Two Buoys Unplugged is an open format event encouraging and supporting serious up and coming artists. Both solo acoustic and Duos are welcome. Every week three artists will each play one 30 minute set. The artists may choose their own music for this set. At the end of the night one artist will be chosen to go through to the next round. Voting is comprised 50% from the crowd via our online voting platform and 50% from a judge’s panel and the event hosts. The judges will be comprised of industry professionals. On week 11 and 12 we will showcase the Semi-finals. The Grand final will be on week 13. The finalists will get to perform three times over this period.
Voting
Voting is via a three category points system combining votes from audience, judges and hosts .
People’s Vote:
The audience in attendance will be given a QR code that will allow them vote using our online voting platform. The Artist with the most votes will receive 3 points, the 2nd highest will get 2 points and 3rd will get 1 point. This will go towards their success to progressing through to the next rounds.
Judges Vote:
The judges vote will consist of a 3 point blind scoring system that gets revealed at the end of the night. Judges may be selected by venue management and may consist of sponsors, established industry professionals, venue owner or agent. Judges are likely to give higher point rating for original content.
Hosts Vote:
Our Hosts, Justin Flemming and Brent Fergus are established artists and professionals in their own right. They will coordinate the registered artists and review their individual performances using the same 3 point scoring system .

At Cargill Custom Guitars, tradition stands the test of time – James still operates from his father’s original garage workshop at the back of the family home, although these days, he admits a change of scenery would be nice. Regardless, the Cargill garage has become something of a music icon itself – an unassuming and intimate workshop packed with the paraphernalia of over 50 years of music and guitar history.
Taking a hands-on, one-on-one approach to guitars, James continues the type of ‘old-fashioned’ service that was expected in the 1950s, but rarely applies to businesses of the new millennium. Considering the unique nature of this trade, taking a personal interest in each guitar is what helps keep Cargill at the forefront of the music industry.
As well as hand-building guitars, Cargill equally concentrates on the maintenance of instruments – both new and vintage – and welcomes any of enquiries regarding the ongoing repair and care of your guitar.
